Speed Racer On Theaters This Week 9 May

This Friday is the opening of 'Speed Racer' which is directed by the Wachowski Brothers [the creator of Matrix Trilogy] and the romantic comedy all starer cast of 'What Happens In Vegas'. I'm not quite having high hopes in Speed Racer, therefore my weekend box office prediction would be USD$40 million. If the review is good, the outcome would be something else by the next weekend.

Based on the classic 1960s series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida that later was retooled for North American audiences, the big-screen film will follow the adventures of the young race car driver Speed in his quest for glory in his thundering gadget-laden vehicle, Mach 5. The movie will feature other characters from the show, including Speed's family and his mysterious archrival, Racer X.

Set in Sin City, storyline revolves around two strangers who wake up to discover they got married sometime during the previous night's drunken festivities, with one of them winning a huge jackpot on the other's quarter. The couple set out to undermine each other and claim the coin, only to fall in love along the way.
